Mis-fitted USB ports, an epidemic

There are an astonishing number of products out there with mis-fitted USB ports, including expensive or high-quality products. Once you spot the signs you can't stop noticing them; they're on everything.

Here's a random example:

The USB (Type A, female) ports fitted in this device have a flange on them intended to be pressed up against the internal surface of a chassis. The connector is not intended to be inserted through a hole, flange and all. It looks ridiculous, yet this design is incredibly common. Not only does it look awful, it makes it harder to insert things into them. Really, stop doing this.
